COMPREHENSIVE WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAMS MADE FOR YOU WITH CONSTANT EXPERT SUPPORT

CONSTANT SUPPORT

The introductory consultation for new patients includes a detailed conversation about your health history and past challenges, followed by a collaborative exercise to set your future goals which will be achieved through the tools we provide to begin your weight-loss journey. Follow-up visits with Dr. Abeles will continue monthly where we will continue to speak about your journey, successes and challenges while we make sound medical adjustments to your unique program.

WEIGHT LOSS MEDICATION

Prescription weight loss medications can help decrease appetite and food cravings, especially for anyone who has tried to lose weight with traditional diets and exercise without success. Weight loss medication should not be seen as a “fix-it-all” miracle cure. Medications work best as a single part of a total plan which includes proper nutrition, regular physical activity, a good night’s sleep and positive lifestyle changes. It’s always best to consult a certified weight loss doctor about your particular case to avoid any severe side-effects as a result of medication. Semaglutide and Tirzepatide injections are administered by our board-certified obesity medicine doctor for your peace-of-mind.

Our program uses Semaglutide (also known as Ozempic or Wegovy) or Tirzepatide (also known as Mounjaro or Zepbound) to decrease your appetite, reduce food cravings, improve insulin resistance, burn fat, and boost metabolism. They are both safe and effective injections administered regularly every month. Patients lose an average of 6% of their body weight in 3 months, 11% in 6 months and 16% in 1 year. Full dose titration usually takes 20 weeks to gradually scale up for optimum safety. Studies have shown weight starts to plateau at 52 weeks.

NUTRITION COUNSELING

Ensuring you understand the impact of food and how to independently manage your meals plays a critical part in helping you to reach your weight goal and maintain it. We’ll educate you on the various macronutrients, the importance of hydration all while guiding you with meal-planning and prepping, recipes, portion sizes, food logging, daily calorie goals, protein goals and how to correctly use meal replacements. Now, that’s a mouthful.

BODY COMPOSITION

Your bathroom scale can sometimes be misleading during your weight loss journey. Body Composition Analysis is the only truly comprehensive and accurate way to track your progress, set realistic goals, and stay motivated. Our analysis provides detailed insights into body fat percentage, lean muscle mass, visceral fat, basal metabolic rate, and more, giving you a clear picture of your fat loss, hydration levels, and muscle distribution—even down to which leg is gaining more muscle. Regular assessments allow us to precisely monitor your body’s changes over time.

ONLINE CONSULTATION

Our convenient telehealth consultations eliminate the need to commute by ensuring you get the care you deserve in the comfort of your home or at work. Cut out long drives, time off from work or the need for babysitters with online access to our specialists from anywhere in New York, Massachusetts or Florida.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Our bodies crave motion. If you’re not used to exercising, we’ll help you get started with a plan covering different aerobic movements, weekly frequency and duration, strength training and how to make all of that fun. We’ll also recommend exercise apps, local gyms, personal trainers or the best hiking trails in the area, so you’ll find the perfect activity to suit your lifestyle.

SPECIALIZED CASES

Weight-loss treatment is still possible for patients suffering with chronic medical disorders like diabetes, kidney disease, high blood pressure and many more. In fact, a holistic weight loss plan may be a better solution compared to prescribed chronic medication. Every case needs to be analyzed and treated individually to avoid side-effects. A board-certified weight-loss doctor, like Dr. Abeles, is specialized to treat these sensitive cases to ensure you receive significant improvements in your weight and in most instances your general health as well.

Insurance is not required for our competitive rates on compounded GLP-1 medications.

Alternatively, we recommend calling your health insurance company to see if you have pharmacy benefits for weight loss medications. If you do have those benefits, we will complete the necessary paperwork to get the medication approved and then send a prescription to your pharmacy. When speaking with a representative from your insurance company, consider clarifying the following points:

Do I have benefits for weight loss medications – wegovy, zepbound?

Does my doctor need to fill out a prior authorization form and submit clinical notes for review?

If approved, what is my co-pay?

Could I get a call reference number in case I need to call you back?
