Losing The Baby Weight

The Issue

It takes 40 weeks to grow a baby and women’s bodies go through a lot of changes during that time. Most women lose half of the weight they gained during the first few months postpartum. The rest? Well, it will feel frustrating slow to lose the rest of the weight.

The Cause

Pregnancy is full of hormone changes. It can take 3-6 months for the estrogen and progesterone levels to normalize. Low progesterone in the postpartum period can lead to estrogen dominance and storage of fat. Many women also struggle with thyroid issues after pregnancy.
