Questions

How long does it take to lose weight?

Although individual results may vary, most patients experience their largest weight loss in the first in the first 6 months and continue to lose weight for the next 18 months.

How often do I need to be seen?

We have different plans for everyone. Some patients prefer to be seen more often during the active weight-loss phase. We have discovered that regardless of the plan you pick, the biggest predictor of success is sticking with the appointments. Once you are in the maintenance phase, we recommend being seen every 12 weeks at a minimum. Its often harder to maintain the weight loss than to lose it, so regular follow-ups over a long period of time is key.

Why do you suggest group visits/support events?

These are a great way to get more in-depth education on topics as well as support and ideas from others trying to make healthy lifestyle choices. We offer these in addition to your regular visits in order to support your long-term success. We highly recommend it for any stage of weight-loss.

Why is it an advantage to have body composition analysis?

The scale details skeletal muscle mass, percentage of body fat, total body water, and basal metabolic rate. This report will highlight specific areas to focus on.

Can I do the program if I had bariatric surgery?

Yes, the future of obesity treatment is through combined therapies.

Do you take insurance?

We are considered an out-of-network (“OON”) service provider as we do not have a contract with your insurer. Out of network benefits usually cover 50-80% of a visit once the deductible has been met. What does this mean for you? You pay up front for our services. You submit paperwork to your insurance provider. Once you reach your deductible, you will receive money back. As an out of network provider, you can also use money in your FSA or HRA accounts to pay for the visit. We accept cash, credit card, or check payments. Upon request, we will supply you with all the necessary documentation for you to file claims with your insurance provider or flexible spending accounts.
